Secretary – Carolynn Trochesset, RN
Mrs. Trochesset was born and raised in Galveston, Texas, where
she spent many of her weekends, when she was old enough to be
a strong swimmer, helping her Dad on his shrimp boat. Mrs.
Trochesset spent summers on a ranch in the Texas hill country
where she eventually taught riverfront/boating/water skiing,
and subsequently worked as director of that facility. Her
ideal day-off activity there was swimming her Tennessee Walker
in the Medina on a hot afternoon!
After completing pre-requisites at the University of Texas at
Austin, Mrs. Trochesset attended and graduated from St. Mary’s
School of Nursing and passed the required State Board Exams to
be able to acquire licensing as a registered nurse. Her
varied nursing experiences have been a continuing education:
-
Mid to late ‘60s
– Staff nurse, Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children,
Houston/Orthopedics. Wonderful hospital!
-
Late ‘60s to early ‘70s
– Office/surgical scrub nurse for orthopedic surgeons. Busy
practice.
-
…moved to El Paso per husband’s job transfer
-
January 1979-June 2006
– Director of Health Services, Tomball Independent School
District. Working with children has been her passion, but
to couple that with the opportunity to work with the
outstanding educators in Tomball ISD …”PRICELESS”!!!
From a school nurse perspective, having experienced how
valuable to the community Northwest EMS is, Mrs. Trochesset
felt honored to be invited into this organization as a Board
member. She feels this is an amazing professional
organization whose employees work their hardest to provide and
continually improve the medical care required by those in
need.
Mrs. Trochesset believes they do so much for so many, and do
it all so well! She has a sweatshirt that exemplifies the
24/7 activity of Northwest EMS. It says: “Life is
simple. Eat. Sleep. Save Lives.” Yes, they do eat…when
they have time; they do get some sleep…sometime; but,
spending just one shift on one of the units will quickly tell
you it is FAR from simple.
A personal note from Carolynn: Congratulations to Northwest
EMS for the strong, professional example you set and provide
to the Tomball community. It is certainly my pleasure to work
with you.
Although my nursing profession will always be dear to my
heart, as through the years it has offered me the opportunity
to meet and work with many individuals and organizations, I
must say that my three greatest accomplishments are my
children.
Their continuous, outstanding achievements keep me young and
living on…
